From April 23 to 26, 2024, the Coastal Conservation and Education Foundation (CCEF), in collaboration with the Talisay City Environment and Natural Resources Office, conducted a coastal habitat biophysical assessment in Talisay’s mangrove areas and four Marine Protected Areas (MPAs).
This assessment aimed to collect relevant data to update the status and conditions of these critical resources. The data gathered will serve as a foundation for developing effective management strategies to protect and conserve Talisay’s marine and coastal ecosystems.
Emphasizing monitoring efforts allows the city to gain a deeper understanding of its coastal environments, paving the way for informed decision-making. With the ongoing partnership, CCEF will provide technical support to the city’s conservation initiatives, supporting Talisay City’s commitment to protecting its reefs and coastal areas.
