On September 13, 2024, the Coastal Conservation and Education Foundation (CCEF) attended the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) partner recognition event. The celebration featured DevTalks, highlighting best practices in social development, and partner’s night, where RAFI honored its partners and reaffirmed their commitment to community growth and development.
The celebration begins with the annual “DevTalks”, an event that brings together development professionals from various sectors to enhance their knowledge of best practices in social development. This year’s topic, “Unlocking the Power of Advocacy”, serves as a guiding light, leading the partners through a journey of insight, inspiration, and action.
The 2024 DevTalks features three plenary sessions. The first session, titled “Understanding Power and Influence in Systems Thinking,” presented by Mr. Glen A. de Castro, Executive Director of Gerry Roxas Foundation (GRF). This session introduced the concept of systems thinking in the context of social development, focusing on how power and influence shape these systems.
The second plenary session, titled “Embracing Transformation: Role in Driving Change,” delivered by Ms. Jennifer Carisma Bretaña, Regional Director of NEDA 7. it centered on the various opportunities for individuals and organizations to actively engage in promoting their advocacy efforts for social change.
The final plenary session, titled “Inspiring Action: Communication as a Catalyst for Social Change.” presented by Dr. Glecy C. Atienza, a professor at the University of the Philippines and Director for Research and Creative Work at the UP Resilience Institute. Her presentation emphasized the importance of effective communication in influencing both decision-makers and communities to drive meaningful change.
The second part of the celebration was the Partner’s Night, where all partners of RAFI came together to strengthen and celebrate their collaboration with the organization. The evening concluded with a toast, reaffirming their commitment to RAFI’s mission of elevating lives by promoting best practices in community development across the country.
