On March 26, 2024, at the Bugas Barangay Hall in Badian, the CCEF team presented the proposed redesign of the MPA in Barangay Bugas. Attendees included members of the Bugas Farmers Fisherfolks and Livestock Owners Organization (BUFFALOO), Barangay Councilors, and the head of their MFARMC.
The meeting aimed to present the collected data and showcase the recommended MPA design for Bugas Marine Sanctuary. Also, it sought to foster collaboration, share insights, and devise a cohesive plan to promote sustainable ecotourism and optimize the redesign of Bugas MPA for long-term environmental conservation.
The Badian Meeting on Bugas MPA is anticipated to yield a comprehensive plan for advancing ecotourism and redesigning the Marine Protected Area (MPA), with outputs including MPA Redesigning, MPA Delineation, and an Ecotourism Strategy.
