CCEF Receives Recognition at the 61st Fish Conservation Week

In a momentous celebration of unity for sustainable fisheries development, the Coastal Conservation and Education Foundation (CCEF) was awarded and recognized for its steadfast support and collaboration with the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR). The award was presented during the opening ceremonies of the 61st Fish Conservation Week, held on September 16, 2024 at BFAR’s headquarters in Quezon City.

This year’s theme, “Sama-sama Tungo sa Maunlad at Likas-kayang Pangisdaan sa Bagong Pilipinas,” underscores the importance of partnership among stakeholders in safeguarding the nation’s fisheries and aquatic resources. CCEF’s collaboration with DA-BFAR in various marine conservation efforts reflects our shared commitment to protect our waters and ensure the future of the fisheries industry for generations to come.

Drusila Esther E. Bayate, DA Undersecretary for Fisheries, highlighted the critical role of community cooperation in her keynote address, emphasizing the significance of collective action in achieving sustainable resource management. At CCEF, we echo this call and are honored to work alongside DA-BFAR in fostering conservation initiatives.

As we celebrate Fish Conservation Week, we remain dedicated to protecting marine biodiversity, empowering local communities, and promoting sustainable coastal resource management. We extend our deepest gratitude to DA-BFAR and all stakeholders for this recognition, and we pledge to continue striving towards a future where our oceans thrive, and our fisheries remain abundant. Let’s work together for a prosperous and sustainable future for our marine ecosystems!
