The 2-day interview for the Triple Impact Fisheries under Project SEAS was held on Lower Cabancalan’s barangay gymnasium on September 28 and 29, 2022. This is participated by fifty (50) participants from various associations in the barangay including Triple M, which serves as their mother organization and the umbrella for the rest of the associations under it. Following that are the Lower Cabancalan Fisherfolk Association and the Special Area for Agriculture Development (SAAD). This was carried out by CCEF with the assistance and support of WCS.
This event is part of the fisheries profiling and includes an ecological and socioeconomic survey. It is to determine where and what the root causes of the problem are, and where CCEF and WCS can assist. This is also to learn about the area’s resource assessment and stakeholders.
The survey questions are divided into sections based on the participants’ designations (Fishermen/Non-fisher). There was also new association identified called Lower Cabancalan Women’s Club Association which was registered last April of this year. This is primarily intended to assist residents of Lower Cabancalan, particularly those affiliated with the aforementioned associations.
